Island Salt Water :

This AC unit was nice at the beginning for our 970sqft condo but weve had it for 2.5 years and the salt water has started to corrode the outside fins. The installer thought it was weird that there wasnt a drain plug or any discussion in the manual about having it drain. It now looks like this might be related to the corrosion issue. Were not sure how much more well be able to use this 18000 BTU unit so a little disappointed in this unit.

Efficiently cool and quite

Bought this three months ago worked fine but then would not go into f3 fan speed mode. Also display would change from one mode to another when using the remote. Call for service took one week to schedule in the middle of summer but repair man came and replaced one single circuit board thats all there is in there which.controls everything. I love the unit but didnt expect a break down this early. One year warranty well see if another service call is necessary. Btw: phone service call was customer focused. Thats a good thing.

Very powerful and cold air.

We bought this a/c because of the reviews. We have an open area of 530 square feet and it keeps it very cold and cools down the hallway and bathroom. Only negative is you have to make sure the plug in on the panel is plugged in good or it shows and error. Would definitely recommend but customer service was not very good when contacted.

I have had my LG for 11 months. It stopped working 1month after warranty. I call and was graciously given a one time extension on warranty but the company was not able to find anyone to come out for service. This is an expensive product to have gone out especially when you consider it was only used 7 months of that 11pm that since purchased.

Seems to be a good product. The only problem I had when doing the installation was the carriage bolts for the window sill brackets. The square part of all the carriage bolts were to long and the hex nuts would not tighten up enough to secure the bracket parts together. Had to make a trip to the hardware store to buy some flat washers to put over the square part of the bolts to get them to work. The nuts for the brackets the instructions referred to as lock nuts were just plain 1/4-20 hex nuts. Had to put jam nuts on the carriage bolts to make sure they would not come loose.

Quiet with a great app to make things easy

This is my 2nd year with the dual inverter wi-fi enabled 18000 BTU air conditioner. Initial setup was quick and easy. Use the ThinQ app as my primary control for the unit. The handheld controller works great but usually no need to get up and go get it. This is by far the quietest unit Ive ever owned. Starting stopping or cycling on Energy Saver are whisper quiet as they change state. Last fall I unplugged the unit cleaned the filter and put the outdoor cover on. This May I removed the cover plugged it in and began use without incident. There was an update to the ThinQ app between last Fall and this May. No issues with that and My Profile etc was ready for use. Very nice unit and so much nicer than my earlier AC with respect to features performance and quiet.

This 18000 BTU is both a quiet AC and quite an AC. I have a living room size 25x40. It not only cools the living room but also the dining room. The dual inverter is amazing. This is the second unit that I purchased. I also got the 14000 BTU LG dual inverter AC for my bedroom. Both are quiet and attractive. The snow white color of the AC is very attractive and modern looking. LG has designed a very good unit. I refer all of my family members to purchase one. I would buy no other.
