Water Dispenser Design Flaw

The freezer door is designed badly. The water line has frozen numeral times and the repair is a new door. We are on our second new door in three years. If you want to live without a water dispenser while a new door is on order and then installed... then this unit is for you. We are deeply disappointed.

I purchased this in the summer of 2016. Within 6 months the refrigerator froze all contents. It must have thought it was a freezer. The Electrolux web site has a listing of three shops that service the refrigerator. One doesn't take calls and doesn't return messages. Another is only a little better. A third has a two week wait for a repairman to come out, but only to diagnose. Further, when calling the Electrolux customer support they are nice, but rarely helpful.It ended up we had to change the electronic board on a 6 month old refrigerator. Now, two years later, the refrigerator will not chill. It has been a painful journey with this refrigerator. In addition to the problems with this unit, our Electrolux dishwasher and washer have only been marginally better. The dryer works pretty well though.I doubt I'll buy Electrolux again when this refrigerator retires itself in another couple of years. It makes me miss our old Brand X unit.I think most rational buyers understand appliances don't live forever. But they probably don't understand why manufacturers cannot correct the debilitating electronic weaknesses in their units. Electrolux, we expect better. There are other brands out there that are more reliable, and bad word of mouth can be, what is that word, debilitating.

Disappointment to the max

We bought this fridge almost 1 year ago. A few months ago it started making very loud noises (like we had a generator running in the kitchen) at random times, but mostly late at night or in the middle of the night (enough to wake household members out of deep sleep). The authorized repair people say they can't fix it I feel they can't hear it. It doesn't occur during their service hours. We have purchased another fridge from a different manufacturer and will have this one hauled off to the dump. This is the worst appliance we have ever purchased. Electrolux reps and service contractors have been terrible to deal with. I guess if you were hearing impaired this might work for you. If I could give this zero stars, I would.

Love the sleek design-the size of this fridge. Worried though -so many people have warned me after buying this item of the problems with Electrolux fridges and how often things go bad on them....but I want to keep my fridge. Here's my story-I purchased the fridge -it was delivered-son of a gun I didn't measure correctly..I had to pay someone to move all my cabinets and microwave on that wall and cut down the height on the upper cabinet. YEAH now it fits. But since it wasn't installed by the deliver drivers-it wasn't leveled (leans forward) and to top it off I'm missing the bottom panel closet to the floor. I still need call to get these items corrected. I'm a senior citizen-the 1000.00 would help me get the countertops I'm needing.

Tubes and wires resting on the floor

Tubes and wires at the bottom of the Fridge are resting on the floor. It is impossible to get the plastic wrapping off front door. I bought my fridge in Dec 2017 in Canada but the manufacturing date is Nov 2014. Design and features are good.

This refrigerator came with the brand new built house. The refrigerator is less than 2 years old and we have already had 2 service calls on it due to faulty parts. The first a fan inside the refer went out and had to be replaced and the seal around the refer door had to be replaced. The 1st service call was during the 1 year warranty so it did not cost anything. The 2nd service call the ice maker motor went out and had to be replaced. This was during our 2nd year so the parts were covered under warranty but the labor was not. We are disappointed with this brand new $3000 refer to have 2 service calls within its first 2 years. We will not be buying Electrolux products any more. When I called Electrolux, all they wanted to do was sell me an extended warranty.

Poor quality control

The refrigerator was delivered right out of the box so it took me a while to set it up. The first problem is I have not been able to completely remove all the plastic around the water/ice cube dispenser so I little bits of unsightly plastic still sticking out. When I tried to remove the lowest bin to wash, it would not come out. I had to pull out the styrofoam with long tweezers, bit by bit and finally pulled the bin out but it was not in the guide. I tried to connect it to the glide on the left side but it would not stay. Next I notice the vent cover at the bottom of the unit was sticking out and would not stay in. A few days later, the water dispenser kept dripping. I called the appliance store and they sent out a repairman. He said the the glide on the left side had a right-side piece instead of left and he would have to order a new piece. The vent cover was defective so that is why it would not stay on. Lastly, he took the lowest bin out of the freezer and opened up the back. There was spray-in foam covering the drain hole for the defroster (I think) and so there was a thick sheet of ice on the bottom. It's been over a week and I still do not have a refrigerator in "new" condition. The unit was obviously not inspected thoroughly on completion.

We have had the fridge for about a month now and it is great.. I love the ice cream compartment in the freezer that makes it possible to scoop the ice cream. My only sigh is that we could. Remove one of the drawers to get more shelf space.

We got this refrigerator with our new home. The bottom drawer wouldn't open from the beginning. Ice flies everywhere and the refrigerator door space is poorly planned. I would never choose this on my own. Yes, it keeps things cold, but I can't use much of the space and walk to my laundry room to get ice out of the door of my old side by side.
