We bought this microwave 2 1/2 years ago. The handle to open and close the door has just broken for the second time. The first time it took about 4 months to get the parts because of the pandemic. I hope the parts come quicker now. My previous Electrolux microwave lasted 8 years and it was basically cheaper to put in a new one rather than repair the old one. What a mistake we made!!!!

Control Panel Light Disappearing

I purchased this microwave in September, 2015, to go with the Dual Fuel Electrolux Range. About a year ago the microwave light went out and to replace it would require a service call because of the location of the light. About 2 weeks ago the control panel light became so dim, it is unreadable. You cannot read the clock and I am unable to use any of the special features and can only use the power/timer buttons. The features still work, but you can't see anything being done. In talking to the appliance store where this was purchased, I learned that I am not the only one this has happened to. To repair it would require replacing it with a new door. The expense of the replacement plus the service call would be almost as much as replacing the microwave. When I replace it I would not purchase one with the controls in the door. (However, I am very happy with the range and the refrigerator.)

After about 15 months the control panel in the display quit working. I did not get an extended warranty because my previous one worked for 10 years. All buttons stopped working. The timer display shows, but there is no beep and it's not working.I believe the repair would cost almost the same as a new microwave, so I need to buy the new one. After only 15 months of using it.Needless to say, it will definitely not be an Electrolux this time.

Bought this a month ago to replace our 3 year old Samsung microwave only unit that bit the dust. This unit looks great and is very easy to use. Like the option that you can just press the start button for a 30 second microwave run. Our kitchen has a single oven/range. The convection oven operation of this unit provides us a second oven to work with when preparing larger meals. Glad we purchased.

Broken Handle - Twice!

My microwave handle has now broken TWICE in less than two years and of course that is not covered by warranty because who needs a working handle to open a microwave? There is a cheap plastic piece that connects the handle to the door that broke in the same spot. Not remotely close to the quality expected with a $1,000 microwave. Best part is that the replacements are $150. Electrolux seriously needs to rethink this specific part.

I purchased this microwave in August 2019. In less than a year of ownership the magnetron, diode, capacitor, and interior lamp needed to be replaced. A few months later the clock stopped holding the time. Soon after the fan and light would turn off if you opened the door. Few weeks later the entire microwave is dead. I owned the previous model of this microwave. It lasted almost 10 years, then the magnetron died. I bought the new version, to match my oven. I™™m out of warranty. The repairs cost as much as a new microwave. Devastating, especially for such an expensive microwave. The store I purchased it from contacted Electrolux on my behalf and we™™re told you™™d do nothing for me since I™™m out of warranty. I see other consumers have had the exact same experience with this microwave; Electrolux should stand behind their products.

Fairly easy to use but unreliable. We have had problems with the electronics twice within a 5 yr period. The door needed to be replaced the first time and I am anticipating the door needing to be replaced a second time to address the malfunction (won't retain clock settings). This is one of 3 Electrolux appliances we bought and 2 needed servicing within 2 years of purchase. Shouldn't experience these problems for the price. Getting through to service extremely difficult. Long wait times and/or won't put you in queue "due to heavy call volumes".

We've never really used any of the fancy features that I thought we would after 7 years. It's just been a basic microwave. The display has always very dim and therefore hard to read.The handle recently broke off when my husband opened the door. Looks like a replacement handle is $115. I think we will just buy a new, basic microwave instead.

Microwave Handle

We bought this microwave last year. The handle came loose at the bottom eleven months after purchase. Called customer service, the agent said the handle was cosmetic and was only covered for six months. You can't get into the microwave without the using the handle. I had to pay out of pocket to get the handle repaired and two months later, I'm having the same problem. The heating element was an example of a part under warranty. There should be a retro-fit with a studier attachment at the bottom of the handle to prevent the handle from coming loose so easily. The microwave is above the oven and the average person is not grabbing the handle from the top.

This product was in our brand new home. We were so excited to have it. That was short lived. Less than three years into our new home, the unit is no longer working and no longer under warranty. Also, just after 1 year, the handle broke off. Super expensive to get new part( also not under warranty)

It™™s an ok appliance. It™™s definitely a nice looking appliance and it works great. About 6 months after installation the handle broke off. The heat from the stove cause the plastic in the handle to crack. You would think for an over the range unit, they would have thought to make the handle out of something other than plastic.

Control Panel and Display doesn't work

After about 15-18 months of owning this product the control panel in the display quit working. We did not get an extended warranty as we didn't think the cost of the warranty vs the cost of the microwave balanced out. Boy were we wrong. We contacted our home warranty company for assistance but they wouldn't help because the issue was in the door of the microwave. ugh. Anyways the display basically quit working and the touch screen buttons have increasingly gotten harder to get a response over the years. We have only been able to use the quick start buttons or the start/+30 buttons since the issue started. The warranty company told us the cost to fix the issue was basically about the same as buying a new microwave. I am highly disappointed in this product and the expense to try to fix the issue. As I am finally looking at purchasing a new microwave I am saddened that I have to put forth the money to buy new when everything else on the microwave functions perfectly.

biggest disappointment is the marginal function of convection oven and grill accessory. Convection is only effective after food item has been heated by microwave. We have yet to find a distance from element/ cook time combination that will make the Grill function usable in any fashion. We have only owned the appliance for two months, we are still hopeful of finding a means to make these features usable.

This microwave was an upgrade when I bought my house. Originally had someone repair it due to the plastic on the door handle splitting. Now have the unit tripping a breaker every time I turn it on. Went through three doors trying to fix it.. All the plastic on the unit becomes brittle and breaks off. So now, after 2 years, it it dead. Worst microwave I have ever had. So far, all of the Electrolux items have needed repair. On my 3rd refrigerator, and it still freezes half the food, and spoils the other half.

This is the second oven and has not worked properly since it was delivered and installed. My initial oven failed after 10.5 months. Convection feature wouldn™™t maintain temperature. Despite 4 factory warranty service calls it wasn™™t fixed and was replaced by this oven. That started 10/19. Now it™™s 01/20 and awaiting the 3rd service call. I do NOT recommend.
