After a month of use my wife is pleased with the choice of the Maytag washer. We replaced a 12 year old washer that still worked but our dryer broke down and we decided to but a new washer/dryer set. Our clothes are much cleaner and the wash times are shorter. There are no problems with unusual sounds that some reviews have mentioned. The sounds are different but not offensive in any way. This is a great mid-range washer that is solid choice in our opinion.

Have used for about a month now and I've used a few different cycles. Every cycle, operates as advertised and clothes come out clean without soap residue or holes in fabric. I think the ONLY time I had soap residue on clothes was when I used too much liquid soap for the load I was using. I think that is what has caused some negative comments. You can't use this washer like the older models with using too much soap and still things come out fine. It will mess with washers sensing tehnology if you do. The secret for me is using Tide pods or just any pods approved for HE washers. Comes out great every time. You can still use liquid detergent. Just make sure it is rated ok for HE washers and only use recommend amounts for load you are using.

We bought the washer from Lowe's and started using the washer on Nov.4 2019. We've used Maytag, GE, and other top and side load washer and dryers for the past 50 + years. After reading, watching reviews' and talking to family and friends, we decided on this model. Since my wife and I are retired, we don't do much laundry. We like the small footprint and the glass top. The washer senses if I have 4 napkins or a laundry basket full of clothes and adjust the water level. The high efficiency washer uses very little liquid soap. Cloths do not get wrapped around the agitator. The washer makes noise, like all mechanical devices, but not any louder than my refrigerator or reef tank. We bought the warranty but we want to believe that the Maytag brand is just as reliable now as it was in the past.

Better than old Front Loader!

My first front loader that I bought in 2013 died a month ago. I was actually happy as it didn't clean clothes very well and you couldn't wash small loads. It was not a Maytag - 1st mistake! My mom and I have always bought Maytags. I am liking my new Maytag and it is easy to operate.

Perfect Fit For Father of 2

I had the misfortune of having my dryer blow out so bought a larger dryer 7.0. After washing clothes in my older maytag washing machine and placing in the dryer, it was like where are my clothes? That's when I realized it was time to change the older maytag washing machine. I'm not to thrilled with other washing machines with no full size agitator, I found this in which is one of the largest washing machines with the old style agitators. PERFECT! Freaks you out a little when it spins slightly at the beginning to balance the clothes and then determines the water needed to wash. So far, I've used normal, deepfill, double rinse and absolutely no problems. Like all the options and sorry I'm old fashioned, but still want the full size agitator. Ok, instead of 2-3 loads of laundry a week per person, down to 1 load per person. I'd recommend this to any one looking.

Easy to Operate

Bought this model on November 9, 2019 after researching washers on Consumer Reports website. I'm glad I did this first. Also, salesman at Lowe's said this model was one of the best toploaders. I had a choice of the taller model with a little more capacity, but I'm glad I choose this one. Just suits us. It's quiet to operate, and best of all, you don't need to take a class to use it! Very simple. Oh, yeah, it also does a great job cleaning the clothes.

Sorry for my choice

2 weeks in and I am in touch with geek squad.. extremely disappointed ... I purchased my machine at best buy because of the option of adding on geek squad which has been expert in my past appliances.. so I add the 5 year plan and when I call AFTER MY MACHINE IS NOT WORKING AFTER 2 WEEKS , I am informed Geek squad no longer services whirlpool... SOMETHING THAT SHOULD OF BEEN MADE AVAILABLE PRIOR TO PURCHASE.. I will add to this review after I find out exactly what is preventing my machine from working.
