Our model includes a remote sensor which is a great feature. It is slightly on the noisy side but we use it on eco mode which quickly adjust the fan speed to a lower speed and being a very powerful unit it pretty quickly gets it down to the 72 degrees that we set it for. Our unit apparently has a rotary compressor that emits a high pitched sound at high speed. Now comes the odd part of this review. I have observed when lying in bed at times the sound I hear sounds like women talking in the distance. You can't understand it but I thought I was going crazy but today my wife confirmed that she noticed the same thing. It reminds me of the old sibliminal messaging thing. My unit also came with a wonderful installation package which is a real winner and I have been able to do an all weather installation so no more lugging the unit upstairs for the winter.

I had this AC for over 2 summers and it's blowing hot air. Last night I had it on 60 and was not cooling enough. I bought it at PC Richardson, also worse store and customer service ever. My last AC was not from a good brand, however it worked very well for 7 years.

I purchased this AC mid May. Started using mid June. For the last few weeks it seems like the sound of the motor turns on blows cold and then turns off and blows warm air. It is set to COOL, it is not set to Eco or Fan, so it should not be doing that. I had it set last night to 65, and the room temperature on the remote read 78. The warmth woke me up at 2:00 am in the morning and I couldn't get back to sleep! So frustrated that I can't get through on the phone to customer service and now I'm beat tired. Need to talk to a live person ASAP to get to a solution!

I purchased this air conditioner one year ago. It was installed in the bedroom window in June and taken out and put into storage in September. After the winter passed, we tried to install it into the bedroom window again this year, and the slats that open up to close in the A/C were all rotted and tore apart as soon as we tried to open them. Needless to say, very upsetting as we only got one season out of this unit. Never had that happen before to any other window units I've owned.

I purchased my 8,000 btu unit from Bj's Wholesale about 2 years ago... I took proper care of the unit by cleaning the filter regularly and stored it indoors to protect it from the harsh NJ winter. I installed my unit last week only to find out it's not working properly. The unit is not blowing any cold air. I cleaned the filter, removed all dust (which didn't have any because it was covered all winter), placed the ac on the north side of the house (shady). I did everything the owners manual instructed me to do. When I try calling the service number, it keeps telling me that call volumes are higher than normal, to try again later and the call disconnects. I am very disappointed in this product and service. I would never have expected this from a Frigidaire product.

Poor quality - Motor failed after 1 year

We purchased the unit last April because we felt the Frigidaire brand produces good quality appliances. The price was also reasonable. After installing, I did find the unit to be louder than I had anticipated, however it cooled my medium sized bedroom quickly. We stored the AC away for the winter, wrapping it in shrink wrap and then a bag. A year later, we installed the unit. Two days after installation, we heard a loud squealing / screeching noise. It was not consistent and disappeared after a few seconds. This loud sound continued to come on and off. We turned the unit off for the evening. The next day, we turned it back on to see if the sound would return. It started squealing immediately. After doing some research online, we found the issue was due to the bearings on the fan / motor.My husband called customer service since it was still within the limited warranty (2-5 years). He could not get in contact with a customer service rep after trying from 9am to 3pm.We decided to no longer pursue trying to repair the unit. We ended up getting a GE replacement and found that the AC was a lot quieter, compact and sleeker. In addition, the GE replacement had Wifi capabilities and cost the same price as the Frigidaire.In summary, highly disappointed in the quality of Frigidaire. We also have a unit in the living room and we noticed the compressor sounded MUCH louder than usual. We are waiting for it to die as well and will likely replace it with a GE model.
