Had to purchase this more expensive unit locally as there were no "base" models to be found during the recent heat wave, and was pleasantly surprised - the remote control let me set the exact temp I wanted and the thermometer told me if it were so! It's quiet and light and energy efficient, and even had a "filter check" light that told me when to clean it. I'm thoroughly satisfied, glad I couldn't find the cheaper manual model, this one is worth every penny.

Bought this plugged it in it cooled for about 20 minutes,the compressor went off and would not come back on! Blows hot air? This was brand new! After weeks trying to call customer service I finally got an answer, said they would send email for return info. It never happened!!! And I have tried several times to call no answer, sent several emails no replies and it has been almost 3 months and nothing!!! DON'T BUY FRIGIDAIRE !!!

Best A/C I've bought in years!

After using this unit for the past several weeks, I've come to absolutely LOVE the ECO feature. This unit will auto shut-off the compressor when it reaches your preset temp, run the fan every 10 mins to read the rooms temp and kick back on if coming is needed. It has a filter clean alert when it's time to clean it. Also has a removable drain plug on the outside you can remove if you want the water to drain faster cause you don't like hearing the water being evaporated. But honestly, I don't even notice it. This unit is simply amazing. Easy to control, easy to operate remote and overall works perfectly. This is my first Frigidaire unit and has overnight become my favorite!

Replacing an old Gold Star window unit

I have a small window opening which required a A/C unit that would be12" or less. I called the company and they recommended this unit. Initially thought the unit wasn't going to work out but remembered that you had to wait for the room to become acclimated to the temperature I was trying to obtain. Once the unit cooled the room down, the unit ran perfectly in the Eco mode. Unit is quiet and runs as appropriate.

NOT Energy Star certified!

This description of this model on the Frigidaire website, at the top, says the unit is Energy Star Certified, but when you scroll down to "Specifications" and "Certifications" it says "Energy Start Certified - No." It is not listed on the Energy Star website, the box does not say Energy Star, and the tag inside the box does NOT indicate it is Energy Star. And it's energy rating is just 11, unlike Energy Star certified units which are 12 or better. My conclusion - someone screwed up the description - I hope an honest mistake and not a purposeful attempt to mislead.

I bought this today. Here I am at 1:32 wide awake! After running for a few hours, the condensation doesn™™t drain well, causing the fan to hit the condensation water and wake me up.
